In Hyderabad, the Lord did mighty things for His glory!
After the ministry in Palavancha, Khammam last year, our dear Sol. Paul Hudson was led by the Spirit to begin a Troop Church. Out of that work, one of the members, Sol. David – who was already engaged in many ministries – took the initiative, with the help of Sol. Paul Hudson’s family and the AOJ Telangana team, to organize this School of Forgiveness and Reconciliation Program (FRP) in Hyderabad.
Sol. David himself testified of crossing many “Everests” in this journey of faith.
1. The Climate Challenge
It was the rainy season, and a red alert was declared across the city. Many programs everywhere were cancelled. But the faith of the AOJ Soldiers did not waver. Trusting God fully, they pressed forward with the arrangements. The Lord honored their faith.
2. The Place Challenge
Finding a venue was another Everest. Sol. David labored tirelessly, approaching pastors for a place. Three pastors declined, and one even stated outright, “We don’t want Catholic nuns to preach to us.” Yet God had prepared His chosen vessel.
Finally, the pastor of Arnon Church – a retired banker who, after retirement, had begun a small fellowship in half of his rented house with an asbestos roof – agreed to open his doors. He not only offered his place but also attended the program fully, perhaps initially to examine the doctrinal content. But the Lord touched his heart.
The first day, only 10–13 people were present, including us. The pastor’s son, a medical doctor, helped us with all the technical work. Before the first session, the Lord prompted me to share a small testimony of AOJ. After hearing the morning session, the pastor himself began inviting more people to join.
3. The Growth of the Program
By the second day, the number of participants increased to about 30. Pastors also came from distant places like Tenali. During Mother’s powerful session on “Tearing Down Strongholds,” the Spirit of God moved deeply.
A Lutheran pastor who was present stood up and asked permission to share a word. With much conviction he declared:
“I have heard the truth proclaimed here in a powerful way, with marvellous testimony. I see a second Martin Luther here in Sr. Leema Rose. In the 15th century, the Lord raised Martin Luther to protest the wrongs of the Roman Catholic Church. Today, in our generation, the Lord has raised another Martin Luther who proclaims and insists on the true teachings of the Bible. Let us thank the Lord, for He is opening the eyes of institutional Churches – Pentecostals and Protestants alike – to acknowledge and approve the work of AOJ. All glory to Him alone!”
Thus, in the midst of storms, rejections, and challenges, the Lord Himself glorified His name through the Forgiveness and Reconciliation Program in Hyderabad. What began in weakness and uncertainty ended with God’s confirmation, blessing, and the opening of doors even among denominational leaders.
